Meet the Leadership of The Church
Jerry B. Townsend is a native Oxonian and obeyed the Gospel at the Rivers Hill Church of Christ as a teenager. He graduated from Central High School and both The University of Mississippi and Webster University. In the Air Force for over 20 years, Jerry worked as an aircraft mechanic, nondestructive testing specialist, budget officer, and computer systems analyst. After retiring from the Air Force, he continued a civilian career as a computer systems analysis until retirement. Jerry began preaching in Montgomery, Alabama, where he served, taught, and preached at the Church of Christ at Mt. Meigs for over 20 years. Upon returning to Oxford in 2017, he reunited with the Rivers Hill Church of Christ, became the interim minister in 2020, and was ordained an elder in 2022. He is married to Genell H. Townsend. They have two sons, Jerry, II, and Jejuan, and six grandchildren.
LC Ramsey and his wife, Dawn retired from their jobs in Racine Wisconsin and moved to Oxford MS 2012. Together they have five grown children Tracey, Yolanda, LC Jr., Trina, and Maurice and actively participated in raising their eleven grandchildren. LC’s motto like Isaiah, “Here am I. Send me!”

Alonzo Hilliard is a native of Lewisburg, Mississippi, and graduated from Hernando High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Mississippi and was commissioned as an Air Force Officer in 1980. Bro. Hilliard has a service heart and feels that his God’s given gifts should always be used to serve others. (1 Peter 4:10) Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. Bro. Hilliard currently serves as the Chief Operations Officer for Sigma LOU Group, LLC. He is founder and Director of LOU Mercy Re-entry Ministries, Inc., he is an Oxford Affordable Housing Commissioner, Board Member, and Financial Counselor at Interfaith Compassion Ministry, Member of the Lafayette Community Remembrance Project, Kairos Prison Ministry, the Local NAACP, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and The Inn at Ole Miss Staff .
Bro. Hilliard has lived in the Oxford/Lafayette County Community for over 20 years and has been married to his wife Theressa for 40 years. They have four 4 adult children and eleven 11 grandchildren.
